Community Participation : People will be encouraged to participate in protecting and enhancing the environment. Nature and wildlife will provide the local community, visitors and volunteers with the inspiration to become a major force in the conservation of this important site.
Land Management: Advice will be given to landowners and farmers through using Slievenacloy as a best practice example of working to sustainable agri-environment principles and wildlife-friendly farming. We will seek to develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to encourage participation in wildlife-friendly farming.
Funding Partnership: Ulster Wildlife receives funding through NIEA (Northern Ireland Environment Agency) and DARD (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) to achieve nature conservation targets through landscape-scale and ecosystem approaches at Slievenacloy and the wider Belfast Hills area.
